Del Monte Fruit Burst's Rules: Conkers

Del Monte Fruit Burst's Rules: Conkers

Preparation

ChooSe your conker- the biggeSt, ShinieSt, hardeSt conker you can find!

Use a thin screwdriver or a skewer to make a hole through the middle of it. Be VERY careful and make sure an adult is helping you. Thread a strong string through the middle, tying a knot on the end so the conker doesn’t fall off.

One

Your conker must be a ‘natural’ conker. It must NOT be:

  • Baked
  • Pickled
  • Painted
  • Varnished
  • Hollowed out and filled with something else
  • Not actually a conker at all
Two

The string must be long enough to wrap twice around your hand and have at least 25cm left hanging.

Three

The person who goes first is decided by tossing a coin.

Two

The defender hangs their conker by the string at the height chosen by the striker. Keep perfectly still!

Three

Take it in turns to hit each other’s conker. You have up to 3 attempts each turn to make a hit. As soon as you have hit the other person’s conker it is their turn.

Two

If the strings tangle, the first person to call “strings” gets an extra turn.

Three

If you hit your opponent’s hand or any other part of their body, they get an extra turn.

Two

If one of you drops your conker or it’s knocked on the floor, the other player can shout “stamps” and stamp on the conker, winning the match. However, if the other person shouts “no stamps” before you, then you carry on playing.

Three

If you smash your conkers at the same time, you replay the match.

Two

The first person to destroy/smash/obliterate their opponent’s conker wins!

Good Luck
